A wedding of interest was that of Miss Fern Sweeney of Hillsboro, to J. T. Covington of Donelson, which occurred Friday evening, August 12, at the home of the officiant, Esq. Burke, at Nolensville. The bride who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sweeney, wore for her wedding dress a gown of coral pink flat crepe, with trimmings of white. Her accessories wer also of white. She is accomplished young woman and holds a responsible position as assistant cashier of the Bank of Leiper's Fork. The groom is an employee of the State Highway Department. Following the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Covington motored to the groom's home at Donelson for the week. They are located for the present with the bride's parents at Leiper's Fork.

OBITUARY: FERN SWEENEY COVINGTON 1992
Fern Sweeney Covington, 87, died Friday, Jan. 3, at Williamson Medical Center. Mrs. Covington was a resident of Franklin and a native of Leiper's Fork community. She was a homemaker and a member of Fourth Avenue Church of Christ and a member of the Tuesday Ladies Bible Class. Survivors include four daughters, Beverly Covington, Mary Ella Bastian, Novella Smith, June Caldwell, all of Franklin; two sons, Dr. Thomas Covington of Only and Dan Covington of Nashville; 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Leipers Fork Cemetery at 2 p.m. today with Dr. Thomas Covington and Dan Covington officiating. Burial will be in Leiper's Fork Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ken Caldwell, Skip Caldwell, Lyn Smith, Bob Smith, Clay Bastian, Dr. Sam Bastian, Edie Bastian Emery, Reese Covington, Jay Covington, Mary Lewis Covington, Tracy Covington, Keith Covington, and Joe Allen Covington. Franklin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. James Thomas COVINGTON and E. Fern SWEENEY had the following children:
