300. Boyd "Arthur" Wilson⁽¹⁾ was born in 1912 in Fentress County, Tn.⁽²⁾ He died on 13 Aug 1987 in Clarkrange, Tn, Fentress County.⁽²⁾ He was buried on 16 Aug 1987 in Campground Cem, Fentress County, Tn. ⁽²⁾ [Fitz.ged]

ARTHUR WAS BORN TO OLLIE MILLER WILSON AFTER her husband, Auston " OU GHT"
DEATH, AND BECAUSE he was born out of wedlock her children would no t bury
OLLIE NEXT TO OUGHT AT THE CAMPGROUND CEMETARY, when she died, AT
MOUNT UNION MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, FENTRESS COUNTY, TENNESSEE.
ARTHUR WAS BORN IN 1912, PER THE 1920 FENTRESS COUNTY CENSUS, and Oug ht died
in 1902.

ARTHUR'S FIRST NAME WAS BOYD, BUT EVERYONE CALLED HIM ARTHUR.

ARTHUR IS BURIED IN Campground Cemetery, Fentress County,TN.

ARTHUR'S FATHER WAS PRESTON JONES "STICKER", BECAUSE HE STOLE EVERYTHING HE GOT
HIS HANDS ON. PRESTON WORKED AS A FARM HAND FOR OLLIE AFTER HER HUSBAND DIED.
OUGHT DIED WHEN HE WAS 32 YEARS OLD OF AN INFECTION IN HIS LEG, LEAVING OLLIE
TO CARE FOR 7 SMALL CHILDREN. SHE BECAME PREGNANT BY PRESTON JONES AND THEN HE
TOOK OFF. WHEN ARTHUR WAS BORN SHE NAMED HIM "WILSON".

ARTHUR IS MARRIED TO ONIE SWALLOWS.

ARTHUR DIED 13 AUG 1987.

Nelma's son, Arthur's grandson, was fist fighting with Arthur. Arthur's half brother
Rasberry tried to break up the fight. The boy hit Ras over the head with the
bat. Ras walked over to his truck and sat down on the running board and fell
over dead. The boy was told by the Court Judge to spend 4 years in the
military. The boy made a career of the service.

Another of Arthur's boys worked in a coal mine and was pulling a donkey cart
when the donkey farted, and it caused an explosion in the mine and singed the
boy's hair.

Arthur's brother-in-law was walking after dark with his horse and fell off a
cliff. The lantern he was carrying fell and fell and fell. He managed to hang
onto a limb most of the night, knowing if he let go he would surely die. He
finally became so tired he decided to make his peace with God and just let go. To his surprise
he only fell a couple of feet, he had landed on a ledge. The horse was killed
though, and he never found his lantern.

As of 2 Sep 95, I was talking to Verlin McGinnis Wilson, Rich Wilson' s second
wife, and she told me that Onie was still living on Monterey Road which leads to Clarkrange, Tn . I found
a mailing address, and I plan on writing to her for some info.

I phoned Verlin, and got some names and dates from her, but she is un able to
read or write, her 2 sons living at home don't read or write either , so she
won't be sending me any additional information. I will try to visi t her the
next time I get to Tennessee.

I went to Crossville for a Wilson Family Reunion, June 30, 1997, and planned on visiting with Verlin the next day. We stopped at Campground Cemetery, Fentress County, and to my sadness, I saw that Verlin had passed away, March 1997. I was too late to talk to her. She is buried at Campground Cemetery with her husband, William Richard "Rich" Wilson.

He was married to Onie Swallows in 1918 in Overton County, Tn. Boyd "Arthur" Wilson and Onie Swallows had the following children:
