Historical Society, on page 559. The photo states: Leaving for th e Army,
September 6, 1918, William Wilson is in the second row, first one o f the left.

I talked to his second wife, Verlin McGinnis Wilson, 2 Sep 1995, fo r about 45
minutes. I had wrote her quite a lengthy letter telling her what inf o I had,
and what I needed for her family. She told me she got the letter, bu t did not
read or write. I asked her what questions I could over the phone. S he was
very friendly and pleasant to talk too. I would like to go visit wit h her the

I VISITED the CAMPGROUND CEMETERY AND GOT THE DATES FROM HER GRAVE MA RKER, JUN
1994. I ARRIVED RIGHT AFTER MEMORIAL DAY, AND HER GRAVE WAS COVERED W ITH MANY
BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS. William Richard "Rich" Wilson and Verna Mrs William Richard "Rich" Wilson had the following children:

VERLEN WAS THE 2ND WIFE TO RICH WILSON. AS OF JUN 1994, VERLEN WAS S TILL

SISTERS WERE MARY, MAUDE AND LORI WILSON.

I spoke to Verlin on the telephone 2 Sep 95 and got names and dates o f their
children as well as Rich's first wife, Verna's children. Verlin neve r learned
to read or write. I had previously mailed her a long letter explaini ng who I
was and giving her in detail all the names I had located thus far, an d sent her
photos of Rich that I had. She didn't even know that he had served i n World
War I.

Verlin and Rich lived on Lake Road for 1 week and Rich decided to g o for a walk
and went down the field to look at some adjoining land to buy. He we nt past
Dale Bilbrey's horse ranch to look at the horses on his way back to t he house.
On his way back home he suffered a fatal heart attack and was dead in stantly.
When he didn't return home on time, Verlin called the Rescue Squad an d they
went out looking for him. Verlin was in the house caring for her ail ing mother
when she heard a shot gun go off, she knew that Rich had been found . She went
running out to the field and her brother Elbert stopped her and tol d her not to
go out there, Rich was dead. Rich was buried at the Campground Cemet ery near
his first wife, Verna.

Verlin has had a heart attack at the age of 77 in 1991, and was in the
Livingston Hospital for 3 days, and was later moved to St Thomas Hosp ital in
Nashville, Tn and stayed for 31 days. Part of her heart is dead an d she is
very weak, and can't even sweep or mop the floor.

Verlin was 22 years old when she married Rich and he was 42 years old . She
will be 81 years old 11 Sep 1995, and weights 133 lbs.

Verlin was born in Campville, Tn, which is near Knoxville, Tn border. William Richard "Rich" Wilson and Verlin Juanita McGinnis had the following children:
